December 27th, 2011

December 27th, 2011.

The official start of my blog. While I don't expect many people to read, or follow this, or me, I'm going to write anyways. Here, I'll list the tales of being a pizza delivery drive at Domino's, things I find funny, or things that bother me. I name one of each today, and divy them up in the following days. Lets start with the first. Tales of pizza delivery. Mostly, the job is simple. The run comes up on the screen, you clock it out, find the house, exchange food for money, and go back to the store. Sometimes, you get random encounters that inspire you, or make you angry, sad etc. Today I delivered to an elderly woman. It was just like any other delivery, and one of the couple that invite you inside their home because it's cold outside. She sat down, asked the total, and wrote me a check. But just before I left, she started a conversation, and said something that made me think and remember a little bit. She said that this year, Christmas didn't feel quite the same. I agreed, that something about this year had felt... Different. Then she got personal with it. She was sad this year, because just yesterday, her great grandson had left for Japan. He's in the Navy. She's happy that we're not in a "war" as of right now, and that he'll be off the coast on a ship instead of in the line of fire. While I'm not a religious man to any degree, I feel the need to ask myself, and anyone that reads this, to pray for this man. I don't know his name, but I know his great grandmother, if only for the five minute pizza exchange. Everyone deserves to come home.

Things I find funny... Well, to be honest, the list is quite extensive. Recently, it's been the Epic Rap Battles of History. If you haven't seen them out, check 'em out on YouTube. They can be offensive and vulgar, but it's all in good fun. This section was short, and probably always will be.

Things that bother me... Something that probably wasn't true, but I thought of it today for one reason. As I was getting in my car to go on a delivery, I saw a woman in her car put on her glasses. I'm unsure if she wore them because she has to, or if she wears them because she enjoys the fashionista side of wearing glasses. I will say this once, and only once. Glasses weren't meant to make you look smarter, they weren't meant to make you look cuter. They were invented because some of us in this world have terrible eyesight. The reasons are different, but the bad eyesight is the same. Mine can most likely be attributed to a few things. One being family history. My grandmother and my father both wear glasses. The other thing, I play way to many games. And I never listened to my dad when he told me to sit back from the TV. Remember, your father's always right. When I see someone that genuinely needs glasses wearing them, I don't feel anything. I don't get angry. They need them. If they happen to make them look or feel more "attractive" then more power to them. But when you see someone that wears them just because... That bugs me to no end. It's like a slap in the face to the rest of us. You don't need them. How about we trade eyes. This way, you can have my bad eyesight and NEED the glasses, and I'll be free of them, to see as I please.

Anyways... /rant. That's the end of my first post. We'll see if I feel like keeping this up to date.
